I confess. Before finding out about SEO tools and Web promotion trade, I was of the opinion that Google was perfect. I Used Google to look for everything from celebrities, to images, to articles to odd gadgets and heedlessly trusted the search outcomes. Then I found out about SEO apps and a new field centered on Web promotion, and my beliefs were never the same. But even before my revelation, after doing some introspective musings, I got a feeling that search engines, Google to boot, know far from all, and reveal to the users a tiny portion of that.

My search experiences soon persuaded me that Flikr is a higher quality image data bank, that with the help of social bookmarking tools I can get great current events coverage without having to rummage through Google search retrieval (rummaging seems more fitting than Google search), and human search is better handled by Facebook. It seems like when I search for strange things on Google, the results are almost always inaccurate, to put it kindly. Try searching for SEO programs and other SEO connected subjects on Google and you are just about prepared to give up your patience. I mean, seriously, what’s the connection between SEO programs and online education websites or Web casinos? It happens in my disappointment.

So when news of best seo tools software and the whole industry built around it entered my humble worldview, my suspicions about webpages popping up on the top of Google grew exponentially. Do they merit to be there and who is to blame, Google or webmasters using SEO tools. The ethical quandary is huge. Do I quit using my SEO google ranking or do I stop using Google instead? I concluded that I can’t boycott Google just yet. At least not till the decent rival enters the picture. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep playing with my SEO programs.

Truth is that SEO software is the reason why people like me get found on the Internet. Sophisticated as they are, Google search algos are not likely to find some random guy and rank his webpage well. In this regard, I still am a strong fan of SEO programs and natural search. If it was all about the paid search, the corporate entities would squish me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of organizations on the Fortune roll! But here is another thing that irritates me and other check backlinks users, I am sure. There are people who buy SEO programs and use them to sell shoeson employment sites and the like. What we see is rubbish that not only pervades the web but is also highly positioned by Google.

What is the public perspective on this? They search for SEO tool reviews and will instead find irrelevant SERPs. They get disenchanted. So much for the “Internet democracy”. Does this mean that SEO product and service industry is harmful? Probably not.

The unethical users of SEO apps need to stop corrupting the Web but it’s like ordering hackers to stop hacking. The unfortunate thing about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the opportunity to be visible on the Net that is offered to the no-name person like myself. For now people just have to live with them. One can only hope that Google will put more emphasis on catching the schemers abusing SEO applications, and if Google doesn’t, the new Google will.
